What happened

India's medical entrance exam was hit by a paper leak traced to Bihar and a grace-marks fiasco that produced an impossible cluster of perfect scores, with the CBI arresting a leak network.

The NTA first branded the leak reports baseless, then the government sacked the agency's chief, formed a committee and passed an anti-cheating law, while the Education Minister carried no personal accountability at all. The fix did not hold, as 2026 would prove.

What accountability should have looked like

Own it at the top and rebuild the testing agency end to end, so 2.4 million futures do not hinge on a leaky trunk.

Ministers and office-holders responsible
